What are the rules of taking street photographs? Want to go roaming around and snap candids of my surroundings...is a signed agreement to photograph necessary if taking random street shots?

yours is a question I wrestle with all of the time, I believe you need a signed release if the photos are going to be published, the exception being a photo that is news worthy, you get a photo of someone who just robbed a bank and sell it your local newspaper.....the thing that gets iffy is how your local police view folks taking photos of bridges, buildings and of them.........if you google "photograpers bill of rights" you can download a card which states your rights and if you stopped by the police show it to them............and after they stop beating you hope they read it
