Week 1 Recap

The new JPG has been rockin' for a week now, and what a week it's been! We're now over 3,000 members strong, with just about that many photos. Welcome, everybody! Thank you so much for joining us.

We've also received over 1,200 submissions to Issue 7. As of this writing, there's still 7 days left to submit, so if you haven't added a photo yet, let's see your best Big, Self-portraiture, and Hometown shots! And don't forget to vote on your favorites - we're depending on you to tell us which photos you think fit the themes best. We're also busily booking ads for Issue 7, so if you're interested in advertising, get in touch now!

We've also gotten tons of feedback from you, both on your blogs and in our email, and we're listening! We've got lots of work to do. Thanks for helping us along.

And we've gotten some nice reviews! Publishing 2.0 called us "elegant" (which is a word designers always love to hear), CNET called us the "Web 2.0 magazine of the future" (which seems slightly redundant, but we appreciate the sentiment), and Om Malik called us the "American Idol of Digital Photography" (which makes us wonder which one of us is Simon). And we got 583 Diggs - thanks, Diggers! We dig you, too.
