We Don't Blow

We ran a little house ad in issue 7, and it got so many positive responses that we decided to give it another run in issue 9. Here's what it says:
You know 'em – they fall out of every magazine on the rack. They’re called "blow-in cards" and they suck. They litter the aisles and annoy magazine readers worldwide. So we don’t use them. Instead, we just say this: If you like this magazine - and we hope you do - please subscribe. It’s just $24.99 for 6 issues a year (US) and you can subscribe on our website without wasting any paper.
Magazines put those annoying blow-in cards in their magazines because they work - they're one of the main ways magazines get new subscribers. But they're also one of the most frequent annoyances readers list when asked what they hate about traditional magazines.
We think we've got a better way to subscribe here on the website. That way, while you're here, you can create a membership, meet your fellow JPGers, and get involved in the creation of the magazine. Who really wants to write their credit card information on a postcard, anyway?
And even better, we're not wasting paper printing something that disrupts your experience of enjoying the magazine. It's all part of our master plan to Make Magazines Better.
