New Issue Theme: Favorite Hangout!
Posted by Laura Brunow Miner on 30 April 2008.
It's no secret that from time to time, JPG connects people. A few months back I noticed that my old college RA from Kansas, Aimee Osbourn-Gille, is a member of both JPG and Everywhere! Since then we've gotten back in touch and I've watched her open her own lovely café in Paris.
Inspired by her charming hangout spot and the idea of people connecting, we've teamed up with Yelp to present the theme Favorite Hangout. Is there a place where everyone knows your name? Or where you feel the most calm or clear-headed? Or maybe just your preferred spot to be in when you're not at home or work. Show us what it's like to be there! (and don't forget to include a description!)
Favorite Hangouts is sponsored by Yelp. Along with your submission, tell us why the place is a favorite, and if you’re really feeling it, get on Yelp (so long as your hangout is in the U.S.) to share your opinion there. Yelp is an online community and local city guide where people talk and write about their favorite places to eat, drink, play and, well, hang out!
Here are some early standouts in the theme, including Aimee's café:

Bouqiner à L'Oisive Thé by Aimee Osbourn-Gille

Solids by Joel Aron

Waiting for the Trolley by Delmas Green

Black Cat Saloon by Randall Cosco
