Exciting News From Your Fellow JPGers!

Posted by — 11 Jun 2008

I just wanted to shout out to a couple of JPGers who recently found out their work has placed in the contests they entered!

You might remember JPG member Ian Aleksander Adams' story Bad News, which was published in Issue 14. It's hard not to forget these impressionable images as he photographed people who has just learned some awful news. On a lighter note—Ian's photographs were chosen as a finalist in the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, which basically means he has placed in the top three! He'll be flying out to New York in mid-August for the awards ceremony. We're rooting for you over here in San Francisco—good luck and congrats!

JPG member Shannon Dagher has also learned she is a dual finalist in the "Photography at High Speed: An Historical and Contemporary Exhibit" which will be displayed at the Miller Sheets Center for the Arts at Fairplex in Pomona, CA during the Los Angeles County Fair. Two of her images placed in the Top 5 under the categories "Abstracted Movements" and "Movement Through Time". As a finalist, her images will be in the exhibition catalogue as well as the physical (and web) exhibit of the show. Be sure to mark your calendar to check out Shannon's work—the fair runs September 5-28.
