San Francisco/Bay Area Photo Shoot Workshops
Posted by Christina McNeill on 13 June 2008.
100% inspired by JPG Member Mr. T and the rest of the JPGers who've attended the Portland Workshops, Yours Truly has decided to finally put together not one but two different workshops! I'm super excited about both of them and hope you can make it out for a few hours of shooting, mingling, networking and much more!
The first workshop is Saturday June 21, 2008. So sorry about the short notice, but I kind of am crashing a meet-up with another Bay area group! What intrigued me about this particular meet-up was the location. The workshop will take place in the old mining town of Locke, Ca which is near Sacramento. If you go to the Locketown Website you'll see a glimpse of how cool the town looks. It's totally old-fashioned—plus it seems like a photographers dream to shoot! Everyone will meet there around 1pm. There's more— I'm bringing my Hasselblad and extra Holga if anyone is interested in learning a new camera! Just make sure to buy some 120mm film. I also am going to bring some books that I have collected of photographers that have really inspired me.
The second workshop is going to be Saturday July 19, 2008. It's going to be on the lovely Treasure Island, which is this cute old Navy Base in between the Bay Bridge—between Oakland and San Francisco. If you've never shot on Treasure Island then you're in for a real treat! Most of Treasure Island is pretty much abandoned, with some people living on the west end. There will be a few models and the theme is going to be vintage! It's a great opportunity for you to meet some fellow JPGers (JPG Staff too) and to of course get some really cool pictures out of it! Below are a couple images I've taken on Treasure Island, to give you somewhat of an idea on what to expect.
If you're interested in any of these two workshops you can message me and I'll give you more details. Hope to see you there:)
