What's with this Workshop Business?

Many JPGers lately have been asking about the workshops we've been mentioning on the blog, both in Portland and the Bay Area. What are they? How much do they cost? What are they for? What about my area?
While none of these workshops are officially hosted by JPG, we're helping spread the word and connect members who want to share their knowledge. I'll give you a little run down on why you might be interested in tagging along or even hosting an event in your neck of the woods.
The very first workshop was put together by Mr. T, in Portland. Since then he's hosted three successful free workshops and they've been getting a lot of buzz! Next, the uber-talented Christina McNeill (currently interning here at JPG) thought it would be really cool if she hosted one down in the Bay area as well.
The workshops are a great way for JPGers who share a common passion, photography, to meet up and shoot. The host is often someone that has some photography know-how and wants to teach a group of people some basic or even advanced tricks. All the workshops we've promoted have been free and open and are for anyone who is interested in learning or teaching some really cool photography skills.
Want to just meet some JPGers in your area? No problem, we'd love to help you out. Want to plan a portfolio critique at your local coffee shop or a little photo outing in your city? Just let us know all the details of your event and we'll help you find some other JPGers in your area.
