Inform Yourself And VOTE
Posted by Lauren Sloss on 3 November 2008.
I'm a very opinionated person. Books, movies, music, and food are just a few categories over which I can easily foam at the mouth at the rightness of my view or the wrongness of yours. Politics are no exception. But today is not the day to present my views to you, or question yours, or try to change minds in any way (and trust me, I do plenty of that normally). Today is the day I encourage those eligible to inform yourselves and VOTE.
We just opened a new theme, Event: Election Reaction, dedicated to capturing the reactions to the election results. This election process has been an awfully long road, and I know my reaction will be a big one, be it good or bad.
We're undeniably at a turning point in history - we all know things aren't great right now, and our next leader will have so much to fix upon entering office. Here in the US, we're all affected by tomorrow's decision; internationally, the election will have a great impact as well. So inform yourself, if you haven't already, and decide what matters most to you. If you can't vote, encourage those who can.
Here at JPG we have seen so many views of these two campaigns; we've been incredibly fortunate to be privy to your captures and stories. In honor of tomorrow's history making decision, a bipartisan selection of photos below.
