An Exciting Future for JPG

Hello awesome members of JPG!

As a follow-up to Laura's post, I wanted to say hi, as well as share a few quick words with you about the past few months and what's to come.

First off, thank you!! It takes an amazing community to build something as unique as JPG, but it takes an even more remarkable, passionate, and committed community to come to JPG's rescue. And that's exactly what you did.

Your outpouring of support--whether on Flickr forums, blogs, or to the world (along with the investment community) that JPG is simply too special and unique to vanish. Our new investors agree with you--and believe strongly in the potential of JPG as a business. So I'm looking forward to working with them to creatively drive revenues while enhancing the quality of the JPG experience. I'm also looking forward to working with our Premier Community Partner, Adorama, to develop wonderful opportunities for all of you to reach a broader audience as well as better engage around the photography equipment you use and love. More on that to come!

Secondly, please be patient with us. While it's very exciting to be able to continue operating this website and the broader business of 8020 Media, it's going to take a little bit of time to get our operations back up and running at 100%. Therefore, it may take longer than normal to get responses from JPG Support or resolve issues that may have arisen with the website in the past 60 days. Thanks for your understanding on this.

And finally, start getting excited! The recent events at 8020 Media have given us a rare opportunity to step back, better understand the business, and develop a strategic plan that drives revenues while giving back to all of you--our incredible community members, without whom this site simply wouldn't exist.

So get ready for new site features which help you better enjoy all of the great work uploaded and submitted here, innovative print products that showcase even more of the best of theme submissions, and opportunities to sell beautiful printed versions of your work while making a decent chunk of change.

That's what's in store for JPG, and I can't wait to help make it happen.

Once again, thank you for believing so strongly in this site, its vision, and its potential. Your amazing support has brought us this far, and your amazing contributions will fuel our future--which is looking very bright.
