JPG Nominated for 2 Webby Awards!
Posted by — 15 Apr 2009
Hey JPG!
I'm excited to say that just yesterday the 2009 Webby Award Nominees were announced, and JPG has been nominated as a finalist for two categories: community and magazine!
For the past two years we've been named an official honoree of the magazine category, but this is the first year that we've made it to the finals for both the community and magazine categories. This is huge!
In fact, we couldn't have done it without you. This nomination shows the world what all of us already know so well: it takes an amazing community to produce an incredible magazine. So from everyone at JPG, thank you for making our unique community-driven media endeavor not just possible, but successful and enduring.
While the official webby award is up to the judges to decide, there's also a people's voice award for each category, which you (yes, you!) can help determine. And since the competition for the community category includes two other photo sites (flickr & redbubble), your vote could make all the difference in the world.
Voting is open till April 30 and winners will be announced on May 5, so if you'd like to participate and vote for us, make sure you do so in the next two weeks. And spread the word! The more voters we have the better.
To cast your vote, visit http://pv.webbyawards.com and login or register (which is free and easy). When voting, you'll find community nominees within the "connections" category and magazine nominees within the "media" category.
Yay JPG!
