Today in the wide world of photography:

New York City’s Upper West Side is teeming with photographers gathering to catch the gorgeous gazelles who will be modeling Spring 2011 designs at New York Fashion Week. Over 300 shows will begin tomorrow and run through the next 7 days. The shenanigans start with the “Project Runway” show. To get us in the mood, and for those with a taste for fashion or Lifetime reality television, check out these nifty behind-the-scenes shots by the show’s resident photographer, Greg Endries.

Also in New York City was the recent Canon EXPO 2010. This event, which takes place every five years, showcased all the latest in imagery. Photo Daily News has a roundup of the coolest gadgets and biggest advancements in all things camera-related.

Expensive Book News! Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame is publishing a limited-edition hand-bound (in Milan no less!) book of his photographs on September 27th. Only 2,500 copies are available for the meager price of $685 (or 445 pounds for you Brits out there). The New York Times talks to the guitarist and former choirboy about his work on “Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page”.
