Are you among those worrying about the death of journalism in the age of the internet? Well now there is something you can do about it (other than continue to read your newspaper in its old-skool paper format). is a new experiment in "crowdfund visual journalism." Photojournalists pitch projects directly to you, the public, and if their projects seem of interest you can donate towards it.

What do you get for your money (besides in-depth visual journalism)? "In return you are invited along on the journey. Photojournalists on agree to enter into a direct dialogue with their backers, sharing their experiences and insights as the creative process unfolds."

A variety of projects are featured on the homepage and they ask that donations are a minimum of $10 which really isn't much when you consider that it costs more money to buy a movie ticket on a Saturday night.
