The Best Photos of the Royal Wedding

Posted by David Ozanich — 29 Apr 2011

What was possibly the most photographed event in recent memory (I think it easily puts the Obama inauguration to shame) took place in merry olde England this morning and, if you like this sort of thing, it was marvelous. 8,500 journalists and photographers were estimated to be covering the royal wedding of Wills and Kate.

Here are some of my favorite pictures that I've seen floating around in the hours since. The one on top, which is pretty classic, was spotted by the Picture Show blog.

The snarky photo above comes from the hilarious Kate Middleton For The Win tumblr. There's tons more where that came from and I highly recommend perusing them.

The big fashion fumble of the day seems to have come Princess Beatrice courtesy her funky hat. The Daily Mail doesn't mince words:

Beatrice's taupe Valentino Haute Couture dress and matching coat were elegant, but her headpiece was deemed to be a ludicrous addition, perching on her forehead at an impossible angle and detracting from her sophisticated outfit.

You can now become a fan of the hat on Facebook. This is the second hat I'm a fan of on Facebook. Aretha Franklin's Obama inauguration hat.

Now this blogger got up way too early to watch this circus, so it's royal nap time for me. Enjoy your weekend and next week we'll be back to business as usual. In the meantime, have a Pimm's Cup or two for me!
