I am in a constant struggle with what photography is to me. As an advocate for social justice I always come face to face with problems that I dont really want to. I am always at odds with my head and my heart. Am I exploiting the exploited? How can you avoid degrading your subject when you are obviously photographing them due to their circumstances? I only want to create something that is not contrived, that is true and that is not exploiting my subjects. Here is my best attempt.
