I'm a writer and a photographer. I spent 23 years as a reporter at The Washington Post and Newsday, and have been photographing since I was about 12 - which was a long time ago. I teach documentary photography at MIT, Harvard University Extension School, and the Maine Photographic Workshops. Images from one of my documentary projects are in the permanent collection of the Boston Public Library.
