Live and work in Manhattan but spend weekends (and every other spare minute) at a small cabin perched on top of a bluff on the North Fork of Long Island.

The beauty of the Long Island Sound, the beaches and the surrounding farmland is the reason I began taking pictures. I still marvel at how the same body of water, horizon line and sky can manifest itself in so many different (and photogenic) ways.

Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?
