I first got turned onto photography w/ a 33 mm Minolta when I worked as a Peace Corps training staff member for a Kenya ag program. On weekends, I'd go to game parks with my camera -- great adventrue. Upon my return to the US, I put aside all photography to pursue my profession (psychology). Now, I've returned to photography and am relatively new to the digital camera. I use a Nikon D40x w/ a 18-135 mm lens.
