has been a member since Apr 2008 and goes by SILVERBEAR.

I am retired, a published author, and semi-recluse. Leaving the rest of the world behind, I returned home to Montana fourteen years ago, picked up a camera (again), and have not put it down since, (an Olympus E-500). As most of my shooting is outdoors, I tend to leave my 'shots' alone, do little editing. The camera teaches me something new nearly every time I take it "out there"...

Q: My sister in-law recently gave me a Canon EOS 10D digital camera body. Having only used point and shoot cameras, what would be a good beginners lens to get for this camera? Should I get kit lens to start with?

A: Do you know?
