Such things happen all the time in my country, Saudi Arabia! It even happened to me while I was at one of the beaches photographing birds! they just don't get it!
Marco Martinez said (22 Aug 2011):
A simple "We're sorry. We had no right to do that." from the police department would have sufficed. Instead they just pulled lame excuse after lame excuse. It's just nonsense. Unacceptable.

To JPG: Why do you let people like XIAO JIEMSTT run personal add on our photography blog?
If I were a betting man, and I am, I would bet on this as to what happened: THE PHOTOGRAPHER AUGURED WITH THE COP. You rarely every, really never, win an argument with a cop. Piss them off and they will show you just how much authority they have. And they know there is really nothing you about it. It's called abuse of authority. Happens all the time. It's not just California. It's nation wide.

Q: I am really into my wildlife photography but cannot afford a super zoom lens, I have a 300mm and am considering a teleconvertor. Has anybody had a experience with these and would you recommend them?
A: Do you know?
