Meredith K. Scherzer
Meredith K. Scherzer, age 4 of Berlin, died Monday, September 1, 2008 at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee after an accidental drowning. She was born in Berlin, WI on February 26, 2004 a daughter of Lorenz and Sara (Nigl) Scherzer III. Meredith was loved and will be deeply missed by her family and Wyldewood Baptist Church family.
Meredith is survived by her parents Lorenz and Sara of Berlin; a brother, Dietrich and two sisters, Kaitlin and Arika; grandfather, Lorenz Scherzer Jr., Berlin; grandfather, Ralph (Maribeth) Nigl, Oshkosh; aunts and uncles, Sara's twin brother, Matthew (Carrie) Nigl, Oshkosh, Rusty (Medy) Nigl, North Pole, AK, Randy Nigl, Oshkosh, Stacy (Steve) Paulus, Oshkosh, Kim (Rodney) Langhoff, Oshkosh. Roxanne (Steve) Gajewski, Oshkosh, Larry (Mary) Bidwell, Owensboro, KY, Roy Bidwell, Oshkosh, and Allen (Mary) Bidwell, Killen, TX. She was preceded in death by both grandmothers, Marietta Scherzer and Georgette Nigl.
Funeral services for Meredith will be held at Wyldewood Baptist Church (3030 Witzel Ave., Oshkosh) on Saturday, September 6, 2008 beginning at noon with pastor Randall King officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
If Meredith were here on earth today she would tell you not to worry for her, she has past onto a new life - and it is lovely and loving where she is and she would like you to join her.

I miss you Meredith! That first Sunday after the funeral the one empty chair on the "girls" side in beginner church made me cry. Meredith's loss reminds me to do my best as a teacher to the little ones because you never know when a chair will become empty.
