Hindu pilgrims converge on the source of the Ganges River almost immediately after the snows melt in May. Few reach the actual source, the Gangotri Glacier, preferring to stop only at the temple, 25 kilometers from the glacier. Here, a pilgrim prays high above the rocky moraine of the Gangotri Glacier.
