This is Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. Kate Buckingham dedicated the fountain to the people of Chicago in 1927 in memory of her late brother, Clarence. At the time, she also established a $300,000 trust fund to ensure the taxpayers would never have to cover all the repair and maintenance costs of the fountain.
The fountain has three pumps, pumping a total of 14,100 gallons a minute thru 134 jets. The central pump produces a 150-foot geyser.

You've done our fair city well David, that's a lovely shot!! The fountain is now under repair and fenced off until April 2009. It'll be done just in time for the Int'l Olympic Committee's visit.
