This landmark book in photojournalism, first published in 1968, features photographs from Robert Capa, Leonard Freed, André Kertész, David Seymour, Werner Bischof and Dan Weiner. All the photos come from around the middle of the century spanning many the many wars and the periods of suffering during that time.

Leafing through this book, one can find the roots of much of today's photojournalism. These were photographers (like me and perhaps like you), who saw too much suffering and too much injustice in the world, and they captured it like never before.

I am a concerned photographer.
