I have always been fascinated with storms. Leaving from Miami for a week long cruise the skies were very angry and dark.
I was hoping to get, perhaps, some lightening over the water.
About an hour after we set sail I was just starting lunch when I looked out the window and saw these two incredible funnels slowly churning across the water.
Of course my camera was sitting beside me. We ran up on deck and watched speechless.
I never felt scared, just invigorated to witness the power of mother nature.
It was one of those take your breath away moments that I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time.

Great shot...when I was growing up we use to sit on the beach of Lake Erie and watch the water spouts..very cool!

Great capture! As a child, I observed a couple of these funnel clouds of the St. Petersburg Pier. I remember it being just as you described it. I was Awestruck.
