Liz is a student in her high school journalism class. I had the opportunity to visit with her while shooting my son at his junior varsity game. As you see, her petiteness is accentuated amongst her subjects. She preferred to shoot from the surrounding track than the sideline from where I framed her.

This is a story very well captured and a successful photo to boot! Lots to like here: 1) Subject is tack sharp while there is great bokeh on the players. This draws attention to Liz immediately. 2) Liz and her camera are off center. Rule of Thirds. 3) With Liz in the distance her petite size is further accentuated. Also her slender body is in stark contrast to the wide-bodied, shoulder-padded players. 4) No one person is looking at the camera, which gives this the convincing appeal of a candid. 5) A building (presumably school or athletic bldg.) fences and the tracks squarely "place" the photo. 6) COLOR! Harmonious blend of greens, black/grey and white-- except for Liz's blue jeans, which also serves to distinguish her as the primary subject. 7) She's using a DSLR [not a "toy"], which immediately identifies her as a serious photography student! 8) Her camera is a Canon! Smart girl, Liz!! Nice shootin', Ken!!!
