Despite having had a peaceful and most active time when both Muslim and Jews live on the same soil and cities, Spain unified itself by expelling those religious communities in 1492. Its Catholic Church embarked on a horrid persecution called inquisition. The persecuted Jews and Muslims made it to the Americas with Christopher Columbus. They brought the teachings of Moses Maimonides, (Ibn Rushd) Averroes, Ibn Sina ("Avicenna").

The Diaspora Jewish community is not the same as the Israeli one. Thus, suggesting that this graffiti with an swastika and calling Jews assassins is a backing reaction to Palestinian cause would be mistaking it with Zionism. Furthermore, such suggestion would be justifying right wing and intolerant behaviour in Spain in the likes of Opus Dei.
