A Place to Wash Your Hands
don’t dismiss his dreams, part 1
As a child he dreamed of being an astronaut or a truck driver or a baseball player
As an adult he dreamed of diversified investment portfolio and the weekend
As a child he dreamed that he was adopted
And that his real family would show up any day now
And bring him to his real life
As a child he had a dream a monster was chasing him
And he fell off a cliff, and right before he hit the ground he woke up
Sniveling, he crawled in bed with his mother
And dreamed he was riding a flying his bike with his friends
As a child he dreamed of summer vacation and all the books he would read
And all the fishing he would do, and the cousins he would play with at the reunion
But he also began babysitting that summer to save up for a car
Which he dreamed would drive him to the mall and his favorite fishing hole
In the Dreams photo essay.
