A beautifullly colourful selection of this year's crop of freshly picked cross bred pumpkins on a local farm. Some looked like watermelons in the shape of a pumpkin, other's were purposefully bred to look like blood shot eyes, while the more interesting crazy varieties were surprises to everyone...like the big bumpy ones that look like a pumpkin on steroids...I will likely stick to the plain old non bumby orange variety for this year's Samhain (aka All Hallow's eve, aka Halloween)celebrations!

October 31st was once the Celtic celebration for the new year...I like to pay homage to my roots and therefore this day is of significant importance to me and my personal path to faith. Harvest is over and everything has gone back to seed waiting to be reborn again come Spring.

In case you want to make a pie, Mom always told me to get the flat, tan ones that are smooth. Her pies were great! This is a lovely shot.
