A: Do you know?

My entry for Zen.

A stock takes a mid-day nap at the Singapore Jurong Bird Park.

The bird is, I think, a blue stock – although it looks white. It is at the water fowls pond near the entrance of the bird park.

I never succeeded in shooting a nice picture of it previously because it just kept walking up and down. It was hard for me to keep up with the constant movement to shoot a good, close-up portrait. And there wasn’t any nice pose anyway.

On my fourth visit to the Jurong Bird Park on Sunday 5 October, I finally caught him/her napping, with its head turned around and half-buried in its body.

I happily fired away.

In the Portraits of Birds photo essay.

Also in the Top 10 out of 15,000 photo essay.
