An immediately recognizable icon of California, it was the longest suspension bridge when it was completed in 1937.
In order to take this picture, I had to scramble over a bunch of fences and stand on a fairly daunting precipice. The pelicans happened to fly into the shot as I was setting up and defnitely a lucky catch.
