This is a shot of my 88 year old mother, taken at Alice's Restaurant in the Santa Cruz Mountains. During WWII she was one of the many "Rosie The Riveters" working the assembly line, making fighter planes for the Air Force. Her transportation to work every day was a Harley-Davidson. She was quite an athlete, even up into her early 70's. However, today she's totally physically dependent. You could sit and listen to her stories for hours on end and wonder where the time went.

To be given the chance to hear those stories is such a gift, my friend. My grandfather was a captain in the Navy in the Pacific theater,,, his stories are long since silent, but still ring in my memories... I wish I had recorded them so I could remember them true.
