This is a low precipitation super cellular thunderstorm that I captured on May 1st of 2008. I shot this just north east of Oklahoma City. At this time, the storm was dropping very large hail underneath it. It was wrapped up very tightly, but did not go on to produce a tornado. The storm dissipated shortly after sunset.
Technical Details:
Shot with Canon 30D and Canon 20mm lens.
6 frame pano stitched using Panorama Factory.
Each pano frame bracketted -1/0/+1 to gain greater highlight and shadow details.
3 seperate panos combined in Photomatix to create an HDR image, and then a resulting tone mapped jpg image created from that.
