Mammatus clouds
Carlsbad, California; May 2007
I'd never seen clouds like this before, and I haven't seen them since. Wikipedia says they're rare in the western United States. Of course, here in the San Diego area, any kind of interesting weather is unusual, so this was a good day.

Cool!!! I just saw those for the first time myself in Toronto! I was just walking inside a coffee shop to get a drink but by the time I came back out they were gone :( !!! Later I read that sometimes they only last 5 minutes or so. Wish I got a photo like this. Nicejob.
