Although he loved her children and grandchildren dearly, none of the new spiders quite took her place in his heart. She was in a class by herself. It is not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer. Charlotte was both.

You cannot make this inscription out completely, carved in beautiful Vermont granite and stained by weather, but the line is from "Charlotte's Web", and I dedicate this to our JPG friend and colleague, Christofer Glass.
The bench is outside the public library, Montpelier, Vermont.

Thanks for the memory. Charlotte's Web was one of my favorite books as a child and I had a great time introducing my children to it.
