Waiting in Line
Actors in period costumes await their audience with the King of Ryukyu.
Waiting in the outer courtyard, five actors in front portray representives of the Emperor of China and give official recognition to the ruler of the Goya Republic.
The ceremony is one of the highlights of the Ryukyu Kingdom Festival held each fall at Shuri Castle on Okinawa island.
