Out of happiness

The gate in the background is called the "happiness gate" and was where members of the court would greet officals coming to the castle to conduct official business.

Because of the log-jam of people here, staff at the castle ran us around from the inner gates away from the throng so we could get ahead of the royal procession and continue shooting the event.

To the staff of Shuri Castle we say thank you for all your help!
