Yesterday I attended Return Day, a long-running Southern Delaware tradition in which candidates come together to bury the hatchet both literally and figuratively, and we watched the parade while standing behind a Latin American family.
You can't know how happy it makes me to know that in this small, formerly very racist town, this family with a culture so very different from mine is embracing democracy and making it their own.
