She is the most amazing person I've ever known. I could try to explain her, put words behind her personality, but it would be impossible. Grandma had a way of making things simple, making life seem like, no matter what happened, everything really would be alright. She made me wonder why stress even existed, why people fought. Why not just smile and enjoy what's around you.

In keeping with her spirit, I'll put it simply. She changed me, and I just hope that someday I can leave the same mark that she left on me. Because even when noone else cared, Grandma would.

This photo was taken about a week before she passed away. We brought her an apple from one of the trees on her farm, and somehow it seemed to bring back her spirit. It was like the apple of life. She kept it with her all day, all week, a simple token to remember a life well lived. That was how grandma was. Sometimes the simplest things in life are the most important.
