My first ever attempt at a long exposure... Pigeon Point California.

Absolutely wonderful! I love the little pinpoints of light from the stars, and the rays of light - I'm assuming from the small aperture required for the long exposure?

Thanks everyone. I feel very lucky to have gotten this shot... it only took 57 tries to get it that night. After many unsuccessful attempts at 200 ISO I finally decided to go ultra high (2,000) for only three seconds. This was the result. A bit noisier than I care for, but with a good feeling to it. Thank you all again!

lovely. but if this is a long exposure how do the discrete rays come out? why don't they all blend together? did you use a highlight filter?

And your first attempt came out great. This is entirely nostalgic for me, I stayed there for three nights when I was in the fourth grade... this is one of the most incredible places I've ever been. Great capture.
