"I've a hole in my heart, but I don't think it's broken beyond repair. I just can't seem to find the right medicine and it's too large a wound to simply cover over."

Her friend replied: "I'll sit with you ... watch out for you ... make sure you are okay - but if your heart does not begin to heal soon I think I might need to hold onto it for you."

She turned to her friend: "Would you do that for me? Just hold onto my heart until it healed?"

"Yes ... of course - that is what friends do."
