If you love an image (whether it's yours or someone else's) and want to make sure others get a chance to see it, you can “feature” it by choosing the “Spotlight” button.
When an image is Spotlighted, it receives enhanced visibility in premium spots throughout the site. Spotlighted images are rotated through these higher-visibility positions to ensure the best opportunity for the images to be seen by JPG users.
If you see a great photo that would make a perfect entry for one of our Shoot Out photo contests but it was uploaded by another user, now you can enter that photo in the contest and, if it wins, you get to share in the contest winnings.
Like a photo editor, if you've got an eye for great work, find it and submit it to a contest. If it wins, since you staked the entry fee, you'll take home part of the prize (the rest, of course, goes to the member who shot the image).

This spot is dedicated to my brave Grandson Samuel Ethan Downs, age 5. Sam,in the red shorts is shown here this past summer 2008 with his new sister and his cousins. It was to be the last photo of them all together. Sam died from complications Monday Dec 1st 2008, resulting from the rare illness he had which trapped a beautifull child in a body that would not move. He was so smart, full of humor and with an imagination that many times left me wondering if he really was "trapped" in that tiny body. He was able to use his right hand just enough to steer a wheel chair and he would chase me with it,laughing as loud as he could while we ran around folks in the mall. I am sorry for those folks we scared and nearly ran over, but I will never regret those moments!!!! Sam would play hide and seek directing everything from his perspective,he would read a book by turning pages with his toe. While he was always in pain,he did not ever know life without it so he could not imagine what it would be like! I will miss him so very much and my solace here is that I know he no longer hurts, that he is able to play and run with other children now as it was meant to be.This photo is just a simple photo we struggled to get as each child wanted to move at a different time. None of us knew how much it would mean a few short months later. Sam,, I love you and I miss you, Papa Tom
