Frost sketches
Its window design
In grooved etches
To re-define

Scarlet tones
Of cardinal floss
Marbles the frost
In ruby stones.

The Lord of Host
Uses His tools
To make us jewels
Without the cost...

Poetry by myself AJP

We woke up to frigid temperatures of 4 -zero with wind chills of 20-zero...Winter has begun, but how beautiful the frost is on our windows...Rob Roy suggested I should put this in a theme so I replaced another picture with this one.

This is so beautiful!!!!! The frost on the window look like feathers all over the window. The Cardinal behind the window really looks great behind the frosted window and your poem is beautiful also. This is such an excellent photo and I bet it goes HOT quickly : )

Thank you everyone for your very kind words...No, Lynn the cardinal was eating behind the window on the bird feeder and I just got lucky that it was in the right spot to shoot that picture...However it was difficult to focus through all of that frost on the window glass and had
to set my camera on manual for it to function.

it is a common sight for us to see these pretty birds
eating on the bird feeder next to the window. .Even though it may look like it wants in the house,.being a wild bird they are extremely shy of humans...But we can help them survive the cold weather by feeding them throughout the winter.

Breathtaking, Andrea. The bright red cardinal as seen through the frost patterns on the window is a work of creative genius. Extraordinary capture.

Back for another peek... I thought this would be HOT!! The frost crystals look like feathers floating down in front of your feathered friend. They are SO sharp and contrast so beautifully with the red cardinal-- MARVELOUS!!
