Snowflake
This is one of a series of snowflakes I photographed during a recent snowstorm. I had to keep the temperature of my equipment below freezing. The outside air temperature was about 27 degrees Fahrenheit. It was back illuminated using a microscope light source. The snowflake was suspended on a chilled glass slide and photographed using photomicroscopy optics on my digital SLR.
In the story Photographing Snowflakes.

I LOVE this! I'm a nut for macro shots and snowflakes. Love the delicate nature of it that you managed to capture. Sounds a bit complex to get the shot, though.
