Tokyo, Japan

I took a trip to Guam in Aug-Sept. 2008. On my way back to the States, I had a connecting flight in Tokyo... a 22 hour layover. I didn't mind one bit. I purposely booked my trip that way so I could spend as much time in Japan as my schedule allowed me too. This is Terminal 1 at around midnight. Nobody was there except a hand full of laid over passengers, employees getting off of work, and security guards.

The guards consolidated all the passengers to this one area to sleep for our protection. They didn't want us wondering around one of the biggest airports in the world alone. At around 1 in the morning, they cut the power to everything: lights, vending machines, escalators, ect. One security guard sat there to keep guard while we slept. I have never felt so safe in an airport before and I was alone

Peaceful mood shot. I would associate this more with Zen.

Nice composition. I love the intersecting lines in the ceiling. I've flown in to Narita and it certainly didn't look like this. There were about a million more people. This is a nice, rare glimpse at a very busy airport.
