This photo was originally one half of a diptych, the other photo being a shot of the same building without the sign. I was assigned a project where we were instructed to explore ideas of sacred and profane, and then we were to create diptychs that showed images of both a sacred and profane idea (one image sacred and the other profane), and I made a diptych with this shot and the shot without the sign. My point being how something so simple, and harmless and actually quite beautiful as this small red building could be so easily tainted by the mark of this threatening isolation. Though this may not be my home or even a house, it could very well be a refuge or a safe haven for someone or something, but that purity is taken away by a No Tresspassing sign.
