Q: In Need of Inspiration in Tampa and Surrounding Areas

A: Do you know?

Normally, I wouldn't post a traditional family portrait but then again, this isn't exactly traditional with Kris Kringle having fun in warm weather.

There are four generations here of siblings, cousins, parents, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other permutations.

Thanks, Bonnie and Jan. I must admit, the lighting here (all natural or au naturelle, if your wish) was quite difficult. It kept changing as the clouds would cover the sun.
I made sure though that the white haired matriarch would be well lit, as well as Santa's little elves. Santa's face, however, would remain dark as he's been spending too much time in the sun.

ok, Winston, great family portrait. you made me feel homesick. I recognized Baby Billie, but who are you here, you can't be the white haired matriach. I would think you will have a timer and you are the white shirted guy. I'm just guessing. Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon sa buong pamilya!

ok, you're not the white shirted mama. You can't be the "short haired" guy at the back because that would be to far to run if you have a timer, If both are not you, you must be a good guy who sacrificed not to be in the photo, hehehe. BTW, I went and look at your site, can't see the link

What I like about this photo is the amount of personality you managed to pull out of each individual. Everyone is having so much fun. It's a warm family portrait. Great work. My vote

Ok, let me give some tips and tricks. Lita, the "short haired" guy in the back is me. There is enough time on the timer to run to the back and grab the wifey. I would rather have used a camera trigger but fortunately the light blinking on the camera focuses everyone's attention.
The trick is to keep a steady, humorous banter so that everyone keeps smiling. The difficulty is in timing a joke's punch line so that it coincides with the timer taking the photo so that there people react just at the right moment. That's why the unusual expression on my face. I just delivered the punch line. hehe.
Thanks everyone for the comments, especially Kiwi ana from down under who was very perceptive.

Very good family portrait where all eyes open and no faces are hidden, which sometimes happens in taking group pictures. You captured good expressions on everyone.

This is wonderful! To capture that many happy faces in a crowd so large is no small miracle. This is a real day brightener.

This is precious, it reminds me of our years in Brazil, and we always had a Santa on Christmas Eve and celebrated with friends and family visiting from England or the USA.
