I'd be lying if I said I haven't seen many shots like this - a spiral staircase taken from the bottom looking up, but I'd also be lying if I said this one didn't impress me greatly. It's truly beautiful, and includes elements I rarely see in this type of shot, perhaps because the artist so often relies, too heavily, on the 'perspective' as the singular element worthy of the capture. But here we also see the exquisite texture of the bottom of the stone steps (the three uppermost steps on the left), wonderfully lit, the stunning tonality and stark contrast between the black iron handrail and the brown/sepia - ish overall hue, and tantalizing details such as the subtle shadow on the left of the uppermost ladder. You've taken a subject often chosen for the qualities inherent in the content of the shot, and brought it to a new level via the choices mentioned above. Truly a beautiful photograph.
