My husband and I adopted four children all but one was an infant when they came to live with us. This is one of my daughters. She is a wonderful little child with such a sweet personality. She was however, born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Her age and her mind don't quite match up. But, boy what a joy she has been in my life. She will be learning disabled her whole life and I wonder often, what she may have been like, had her birth mother thought enough about the fetus growing inside her to stop partying. My daughter is truley the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me in my life. She was just a baby when we got her and we worried that she would never walk. But, she did. We worried that she would never have use of her right arm, but she does. We worried that she would never do the many things that she does now with excitement and joy. She is my beloved and I am so proud of her that there is not enough words to describe my pride, my joy and my love for her. I love you baby girl.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. . .And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. - excerpts from 1 Corinthians 13:4-13
