Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures forever more Psalms 16: 11

I used my old Kodak Easy Share DX7590 camera for this close up picture... It is much easier to hand hold without getting camera shake because of its light weight. I am simply thrilled to have experienced the prick of this little birds claws on my fingers...and the fact it was so close to me in the length of my arm..It came to me 4 times this morning but this was the best one of my pictures.

Yes Andrea, I still believe its not the camera but the person behind the camera, one can equip themselves with the most expensive gadget but the eyes and the ability to compose with ease can be seen thru the photos taken, nothing forced but a natural flow.. Amazing, fabulous and perfect!!!

WOW!! Stunning captrue!! Just perfect and I agree with Mayette, it is most def the person not the camera! Better cameras make it more likely you will get a better shot, but it still takes the photographer to see the shot to recognize what makes a good shot and be able to set the camera correctly and then get the shot! A camera is just a tool!

What a great experience to hold a wild bird like that, it reminded me of my Grandfather the birds used to come into the house to , many times as a child I was met by a bird exiting as I came in the door...

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Very nice. I have been trying on and off to get chickadees to eat out of my hand for years.

  • Andrea Petersen

Andrea Petersen said (25 May 2009):

Thank you everyone who have commented so far. Mark, I found the easiest way to get this bird to eat out of my hand was to clean off the bird feeder first so that there were no seeds on it at the time, which I did in the morning before refilling the feeder with seeds. Next stand very still and then wait for the bird to eat out of your extended hand. They become tamer the more you do this as they get used to your presence.
