first lesson
I bought this one at a bargain and used it to decorate the living room for a couple of years. One boring afternoon I passed some pages for the first time and never closed it again.
Practical Photography by John Freeman, includes all the hints an aficionado may know to start shooting well composed images. Here you can see a lot of examples of well organized photos and poor ones with notes indicating mistakes in the use of light and composition.
Freeman writes in a very simple vocabulary, short sentences an few paragraphs. This is a perfect book for visual readers because of the lot of captions and images shown.
Practical Photography is not a book for photographers interested in modern technology or digital cameras. Freeman describes here classic cameras and equipment. He also introduces special tecniques for the traditional dark room. This is a book for the ones exploring photography composition.
